Located along state route 174, Cedar Ridge is an unincorporated community in Nevada County, California. A small community, Cedar Ridge has an estimated population of about 1,100. While private and quiet, Cedar Ridge’s proximity to the freeway makes it a convenient location for getting around Nevada County.

Serving the residents of Western Nevada County, CA, Sierra Express Bicycle Club seeks to make recreational bike riding a safe and enjoyable activity for all. Comprised entirely of volunteers, this local group organizes events and activities for bikers and motorists in Cedar Ridge and the greater Nevada County. Catering to all skill levels, the club hosts a number of local rides that run the gamut from short rides with low elevation gains to more intense experiences.
Twice a month, the organization also hosts Sierra Lite Rides, which are designed to be less intense and more casual than the typical local ride. Sierra Express Bicycle Club is a great way to get out and meet fellow riders who share a passion for exercise, riding and the great outdoors.

Cedar Ridge residents with a passion for the arts need look no further than the Nevada County Arts Council to satisfy their needs. A non-profit organization, the Nevada County Arts Council work to promote, encourage and preserve the arts in Nevada County, whether they be visual, literary, or performing arts. Their ultimate goal is “to advance the cultural, social and economic life” of the Nevada County area.
Their newsletter, Culture Connection, features art from local creators and highlights the stories and people in the Nevada County area. As the only rural county in the state of California with two state-designated cultural districts, the area has a significant reach on the culture and creative output coming from rural California. These districts are identified as geographic areas that are abundant in cultural resources and activities.
The council works to encourage the arts in local schools, and hosts a number of projects with the intent of fostering artistic talent in the youth of Nevada County.
